Was Ayushmann Khurrana there to promote Udta Teer?

Officially, no. Unofficially, it opened the episode.

Samay's first dig set the tone: first Alia Bhatt on the panel, now Ayushmann — "what a downfall." Ayushmann fired back with his own: he'd gone from hosting India's Got Talent to sitting on India's Got Latent, "what a downfall." When Samay asked whether he'd come to promote a movie, Ayushmann insisted he hadn't — "just like Alia didn't" — and then immediately pitched Udta Teer as "India's first patriotic comedy," a spy comedy where he plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India and starts believing he's Indian: he remembers his patriotism, just not which country it's for.

He also name-checked his producer Guneet Monga, who was in the audience, and the film's writer-director Aakash Kaushik. Samay's response: "We don't do any free promotion on this show," and that all of it would be cut. It wasn't.

What were the best roasts of Ayushmann?

Samay said he rarely watches movies but genuinely loved Vicky Donor — then added he'd been so inspired by it that he'd invited two "donors" for Ayushmann. The line that's travelled furthest online was about Pati Patni Aur Woh Do: Samay said he'd watched it, that "woh do" meant the two people who went with him, and that they wanted a refund too. He then closed the bit by declaring his love for Ayushmann's brother, Aparshakti Khurana.

Ayushmann took all of it well, and gave back as good as he got through the episode — including telling one contestant he wanted them to sing for him in Dream Girl 3.

Why did the panel keep bringing up Rajat Sood?

Because of a moment from Ayushmann's own promotional calendar. Samay introduced Sood with a crack that he's the reason "Sara and Wamiqa aren't here," and the panel reminded Ayushmann that Sood was "the same guy" from one of his events. Sood described it himself: a couple of wrong jokes, followed by a wave of abuse, with one or two reels of it crossing 10–12 million views — "more people than watched the movie." He then apologised on the show.

That lines up with the viral Pati Patni Aur Woh Do trailer launch in May, where an emcee's jokes about recognising celebrities "from behind" in paparazzi videos left Sara Ali Khan visibly uncomfortable and drew heavy backlash. News reports at the time didn't name the host; the episode's banter is the clearest public link between Sood and that clip. It also sits right next to Salman Khan's recent on-air rant against paparazzi "hip shots" — the same broader debate about how actresses get filmed.

Sood also got the episode's most unexpectedly tender moment. Samay revealed that Sood's girlfriend had cheated on him and that he'd written poetry about it; Sood recited a couple of lines about never feeling like loving again, and said it's been six years. Ayushmann then answered with a sher of his own on Sood's behalf — which earned a genuine "wah wah" from the room before Samay undercut it.

The episode had six acts. The first three all won — which prompted Samay to groan that he'd built "a terrible show" where the only people losing were the panel.

  • Mrigank Pathare — mallakhamb. The standout act. Mrigank said he'd been doing mallakhamb since he was three, because it was the only sport that would take a three-year-old. After the pole routine, the panel asked whether he could do it on a person instead — and he did, with Samay. Suhani and Samay then ran a mind-reading bit that failed (Samay's trick "works one time in ten"). He averaged a perfect 10.
  • Kanisha Malhotra — stand-up. A TV-serial actor who said she's been doing comedy for just two months, with a set about dating, ADHD and micro-dramas ("Pavitra Rishta, Apavitra DMs"). The panel roasted her hard for talking over laughs and for her story about a date who turned out to be out on bail — but she still averaged 8 and was declared a winner. She also admitted to a long-ago crush on Ayushmann.
  • A "Baby Maan Jao Na" singing act. A performance of the song that had the room screaming, a live "real Pooja" vs "reel Pooja" voice exchange with Ayushmann's Dream Girl character, and a running kulfi joke that ended with sponsor Flipkart Minutes actually delivering desi malai kulfi on stage. It averaged 9 and won — making it three wins in a row.
  • Shubham Singh Solanki — stand-up. Seven years into comedy, self-described introvert, with a strong bit about his grandfather's reaction to him wanting to be an astronaut. The panel's best exchange: if Samay married Rajat Sood, he'd be "Samay Sood" — to which someone replied that Samay is "already sued."
  • Vidya More — poet and full-time astrologer. She opened with a one-sided-love poem, then got challenged on astrology. Given Samay's date of birth, her reading ("you're planning so many things") drew his reply that he'd posted that on YouTube himself. Her reading of Suhani missed on the family-business claim.
  • Anshu Samant — "footballer." The episode ends as he begins his act, promising skills that even Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar don't have — while nursing a broken arm.

The panel joked about the prize maths along the way: with every extra winner, Mrigank's share of the pot kept shrinking — "now he only wins Rs 33,000."

What was the Suhani Shah mind-reading moment?

The astrology segment turned into the episode's best payoff. Pushed to prove a point, the panel flipped it: Suhani would read Vidya instead. Vidya thought of her crush's name, Suhani wrote a name down and showed it to the audience first, then revealed it — "Anubhav." It was right, and the room erupted.

Before that, the panel asked Ayushmann whether he believes in astrology. His reveal: his father was an astrologer — and yet he calls himself a rational person who doesn't wear rings and thinks "the universe is random." Samay called it the most diplomatic answer in the history of the show.

Kullu took the brunt of the intro roasts — Samay joked about a "big flop" in Kullu's recent acting work and a supposed comedy book whose first chapter is "how to edit your videos better," before calling him one of the most well-read people he knows.
